The Mother Earth Effect: A Body of Evidence Launches January 24 With a Book Signing in Gilbert

Two-time best-selling author Olivia Ramirez Smith will release her new book, The Mother Earth Effect: A Body of Evidence, on Sunday, January 24, 2027. It will be available that day on Amazon and at other fine retailers.

She will celebrate the launch the same day with a book signing featuring her contributors at Colair Beauty Lounge & Med Spa in Gilbert, Arizona. The event time will be announced closer to the date.

Rich Ganley is hosting. Ganley is one of the book’s contributors and the founder of Positive Impact Alliance and of Colair Beauty Lounge & Med Spa. He also created the Recharge Room, an evidence-informed wellness platform that helps first responders and other high-performance professionals.

The venue suits the author. Olivia Ramirez Smith spent twenty years in the med spa business before she wrote a word about grounding. She opened New Image and J. Michaels in Victorville, California, in 1999 and grew it to a team of fifty. The habit of listening she built in those treatment rooms is the same habit that produced this book, and she will launch it in a med spa.

A Body of Evidence carries the subtitle Stories, Science, and the Transformative Power of Grounding. Olivia Ramirez Smith compiled it from men: physicians, scientists, athletes, entrepreneurs, military veterans, first responders, and fathers. Each of them describes a life organized around pushing through, and the chronic pain, exhaustion, sleeplessness, and burnout that came with it.

Twenty contributors appear on the cover. Among them are Ganley; Joshua Fields Millburn, the New York Times best-selling author and host of The Minimalists Podcast; Troy Casey, known as The Certified Health Nut; David Kirk of the Phoenix Fire Department; Gaetan Chevalier, PhD; and Leith States, MD.

Ganley’s work with first responders runs alongside hers. The Mother Earth Effect LLC’s First Responder program has grounded twenty thousand firefighters through donated indoor grounding products, and that program put her in front of the men who later told their stories in the book. The Recharge Room serves the same people from another direction.

Olivia Ramirez Smith presents the men’s accounts as testimony, never as outcomes a reader should expect. Grounding, the practice at the center of the book, means direct contact between the body and the surface of the earth. Researchers have reported effects on sleep, on markers associated with inflammation, on circulation, and on nervous-system regulation. She has said for years, in print and from wellness conference stages around the country, that the practice is not a treatment and does not replace a physician.

Known around the world as The Earthing Ambassador, she built this book the way she built her first bestseller. The Mother Earth Effect, a number one best-seller with a foreword by Mariel Hemingway, gathered the accounts of twenty-one contributing women until the repetition became the argument. Sacred Spaces: Subtle Shifts for Mind, Body, and Home Transformation, the Colleen Avis-led collaboration that won the Books for Peace International Award, was her first number one. The film she co-produced, The Earthing Movie, featuring Clint Ober, Strategic Partner, has reached over 8 million global views.

The new book turns that method on a group she had not worked with at scale. Her earlier titles speak to women. This one collects men who were trained to keep going, and asks them what it cost.

The Gilbert event is the first of two Arizona signings. The second follows on Saturday, February 13, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Windmill Winery in Florence, Arizona.
