How to Structure Your Resume

In this section, one should state categorically why they should be hired, how the job that they are applying for is in alignment with their path of career and so forth.

iii)Skills section

This section is often given in a bullet listed format, and is a brief description of the skills that are relevant, and that will make one suitable for a given position that they are applying for. The skills are often inclusive of both the hard ones and soft skills as well. The hard skills are the ones that are learnt through being trained, and go a long way in showing expertise. The soft skills on the other hand are the ones that are associated mostly with personality traits, such as leadership and communication skills.

iv)Work history

This section is often so important, but also quite self-explanatory. It is basically a section that gives details about where and when one has worked in the previous jobs that they held. This section must be short and straight to the point, without much bluffing around.


This is the last part that is to be included in the structure of the resume. The different levels of education that have been attained must be included, from the most highest ranking to the very least. This includes the master’s degree, bachelor’s degree and even high school diploma, and any other that may be relevant.
