1. Emperor Palpatine
Otherwise known as Darth Sidious, Emperor Palpatine thrived in his villainy by successfully infiltrating the Senate and doing his masterwork from the inside as one of the strongest Sith lords. He was insistent on bringing down the Jedi. Preying on weak but force-powerful Anakin Skywalker, he manipulated Skywalker into using his power to achieve his desires, giving in to his hate, which eventually led to the death of his wife.
Palpatine appeared as the puppetmaster in the latest Star Wars movies, showing he has staying power as one of the greatest villains.
2. Darth Maul
Apprentice of Darth Sidious, Darth Maul is a memorable fighter, with a double lightsaber and strategic and ninja-like moves. Even though he doesn’t seem to be a flamboyant villain, his fighting moves and connection with the force make him a villain worth noting. His battle with Qui-Gon Jinn at the end of The Phantom Menace solidified him as one of the top fighters in Star Wars history.

Darth Revan was a character in the video game Knights of the Old Republic. His thirst for power was insatiable, and a Revan lightsaber showcases his descent into darkness.
4. Darth Vadar
Previously known as Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vadar deserves a top spot on the Star Wars villains list for countless reasons.
Once pegged as The Chosen One to bring balance to the force, Darth Vadar embraced the dark side and went on a killing rampage. He oversaw the construction of the Death Star and slew countless Stormtroopers. Driven by hatred and regret, Darth Vadar would stop at nothing to dominate the Galactic Empire.
5. Kylo Ren
Kylo Ren is another well-known Star Wars villain with much complexity. Born Ben Solo, and strong with the force, he assembles The Knights of Ren and becomes an apprentice to Supreme Leader Snoke. He idolized Darth Vadar, has a short-fuse making him extremely dangerous, and shows no mercy when wielding a lightsaber.
